What it is
Wooden handles for files. Key specifications: material wood.
A file is a hardened steel hand tool with a toothed surface, flat, round or half-round, for removing and finishing metal; the rasp, with coarse teeth, is used on wood.
What it is for
Used for deburring parts after machining and for manual work in the workshop and on site.
How to use it
Clamp the workpiece in a vice at elbow height and hold the file by a firmly fitted handle. File by pushing forwards with even pressure and easing off on the return stroke, as a file cuts only on the forward stroke. Choose the cut according to the finish, bastard for roughing and smooth for finishing, and clean the teeth with a file card.
