Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (HMPE), extremely resistant to cutting and tearing, therefore unlike classic 2-ply PES flat slings, they do not require any additional protection on sharp edges with a radius of more than 2 mm.
A further advantage is the low elasticity of the fabric, which ensures that the lifting force is generated quickly, allowing for good control during maneuvering.
The load-bearing weave is made with an extremely thin, space-saving fiber, which leaves a larger contact area compared to classic PES slings. Furthermore, the black color of the thread on a white sling simplifies visual inspection. In addition, as is customary with SpanSet, the eyes and edges are reinforced.
The "Force" range was designed based on EN 1492, which, however, does not apply to HMPE. Therefore, the label and sling are white, and only by application custom does the color of the eyes recall the color coding.
SpanSet has thoroughly examined and tested the cutting resistance of PowerForce lifting slings in both laboratory tests and field trials, convincingly demonstrating their enormous cutting resistance and residual strength, achieving the safety factor of 7 prescribed in the standard for production controls on new lifting slings.
