1/4 Sheet Orbital Sander, 18V XR – (Body Only) DeWalt

What it is

The DeWalt DCW200NT-XJ is a 1/4-sheet orbital sander from the XR 18V platform, supplied as a bare tool (machine body only). Cordless and powered at 18 V, with an orbit diameter of 1.6 mm and a weight of just 1 kg, it delivers fine, even sanding with maximum operator comfort, even in prolonged sessions. Its compact size and light weight make it easy to control with one hand.

An orbital or random orbital sander is an electric, cordless or air tool that oscillates an abrasive pad to sand wood, paint, filler and metals.

Used for sanding surfaces before painting, for sanding surfaces, as preparation or as a finish and for sanding wood before varnishing or finishing.

How to use it

Apply a disc of the appropriate grit to the hook-and-loop pad, lining up the holes for dust extraction, and connect a dust extractor or collection bag. Rest the sander on the surface before starting it and move it in criss-cross passes, letting the weight of the tool do the work. Work through the grits progressively, from coarsest to finest, wearing a dust mask.
