What it is
The PTB DeWalt DFM1110880 universal expansion anchor is a large-section mechanical anchor with an M20 thread and a length of 160 mm, supplied in a single pack. The M20 size places it at the top of the range for load capacity, making it suitable for the most demanding applications, where the anchor must withstand very high stresses. The expansion action ensures a strong, progressive hold.
Heavy-duty fixings are steel or reinforced nylon anchors that carry high loads in concrete and solid masonry.
What it is for
Used for anchoring shelves, brackets and structures to walls, for mechanical fixing of structures and components to walls, ceilings and floors and for structural fixings, where the fixing is load-bearing and must be calculated.
How to use it
Drill with a bit of the specified diameter to the required depth, then clean the hole with a brush and blow-out pump. Insert the anchor through the part to be fixed, hammering it in if necessary, and tighten the nut with a torque wrench to the torque specified by the manufacturer. Observe the minimum edge distances and spacings stated in the technical data sheet.
