What it is
The DeWalt DT3258-QZ angled flap disc is a flap abrasive with a disc diameter of 115 mm, designed for angle grinders and intended for grinding and finishing metal. Grit 120 classifies it among the fine grits, ideal for refining surfaces and achieving a good degree of smoothness before subsequent treatments. The pack contains 10 discs.
A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.
What it is for
Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.
How to use it
Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
