Titanium bit, 13 mm, for impact driver, DeWalt DT50019-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT50019-QZ is a titanium drill bit of 13 mm diameter, the largest size in the series, made of HSS with a tin coating and a pilot-point head for easier centring. Designed for drilling metal with impact drivers, it has a hex shank and a working length of 50 mm, with a low weight of 0.064 kg.

A metal drill bit is an HSS, cobalt or coated twist drill for drilling steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and plastic with a drill or drill driver.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
