What it is

The DeWalt DT5559-QZ is a metal drill bit with a diameter of 11 mm, offered in a multipack of 10 pieces. With a working length of 91 mm and a total length of 142 mm, it is designed for deep drilling of thick metal components, where good penetration and hole centring are required.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
