What it is

The DeWalt DT60838-QZ is an SDS Max XLR drill bit of 35 mm diameter with a working length of 450 mm and a total length of 570 mm. The tungsten carbide head and the 4 cutting edges ensure decisive penetration in concrete and masonry, while the reinforced core increases its life in heavy-duty work. The SDS Max shank makes it compatible with professional rotary hammers, including cordless ones, with a weight of 1.94 kg.

An SDS-Max bit is a carbide-tipped bit for rotary hammers with an SDS-Max chuck, for large-diameter, deep holes in concrete and masonry.

How to use it

Clean and lightly grease the shank, insert it into the chuck until it locks and select hammer drilling. Drill with the hammer held in line with the hole, letting the machine's weight do the work without pushing, and withdraw the bit frequently to clear the dust. If you hit a reinforcing bar, stop and move the hole; do not cool a hot bit in water.
