What it is

The socket extension is a rod with a square male drive at one end and a female drive at the other that extends the ratchet to reach nuts and screws in deep or awkward positions.

What it is for

Used for vehicle maintenance, in the workshop and on the road and for tightening nuts and bolts where torque must be accurate and repeatable.

How to use it

Fit it between the ratchet and a socket of the same drive size, checking that it is firmly seated. Turn as you would with the ratchet alone, keeping the rod in line with the nut. Those with a ball head or a swivel allow working at a certain angle. For heavy tightening, use only suitable extensions.
