Cylindrical twist drill bit Fervi ST1A02.50C

What it is

The Fervi ST1A02.50C parallel-shank twist drill bit is a cutting tool in the short-series version, with a diameter of Ø 2.50 mm and construction complying with DIN 1897. The reduced length typical of this series increases the rigidity of the tool and limits vibration, ensuring greater hole accuracy. The point angle is 118° and the hardness is between 700 and 740 HV.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
