Taper shank twist drill bit Fervi ST2A06

What it is

The Fervi ST2A06 taper shank twist drill bit is a Ø 6 mm cutting tool designed for professional drilling of metals. The 118° point angle ensures precise entry and smooth chip flow along the flute, while the hardness of 700-740 HV ensures good edge life. Compliance with DIN 345 makes the bit compatible with the standardised taper shanks of workshop machines.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
