What it is

Wood band saw Fervi 0855, a floor-standing machine with 315 mm wheels and a 230 V single-phase 0.75 kW motor. It takes a 2240 x 16 x 0.52 mm blade with T4 toothing and has a cutting capacity of 300 x 155 mm. The cast iron table, 400 x 500 mm, tilts from 0 to 20° and stands 1010 mm from the floor. Cutting speed 6-12 m/s, weight 75 kg.

How to use it

Fit the blade with the teeth pointing in the cutting direction, tension it to the stated value and bring the guides close to the workpiece. On fixed machines, clamp the workpiece in a vice (metal) or push it against the fence (wood), select the speed and use cutting fluid on metal. On portable saws, clamp the workpiece firmly and hold the machine with both hands, letting the blade do the work without pushing. Keep your hands away from the blade, using a push stick where needed, and release the blade tension if the machine is to stand idle for a long time.
