Foot valves

What it is

Brass foot valve ('bottacciolo' type) with strainer, in sizes 3/4" (code 350.240.12000) and 1" (code 350.240.13000). It is a non-return valve fitted at the end of a pump's suction pipe: it lets water rise and closes again when the pump stops, while the strainer holds back coarse dirt. The same range includes the tubular version item 192 in 1" with a rubber seal.

Water system accessories are the components that complete a tank- or pump-fed water system: foot valves, pressure vessels, tank connectors, nipples, fittings and tank extensions.

Used in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and for pipe laying.

How to use it

Choose diameters and threads compatible with the tank, pump and pipework, and seal threads with tape or a sealant approved for water. Fit tank connectors by drilling the tank wall at the designated point and tightening the seals without overstressing the plastic. Pre-charge the pressure vessel to the pressure required by the system and check it periodically; the foot valve goes on the suction line, raised off the bottom so it does not draw in sludge.
