Submersible Drainage Pumps
28 products · Pumps and Hydraulics
Submersible electric drainage pumps are electric pumps that work immersed in water and are used to empty excavations, cellars, manholes, tanks and flooded areas. On site and in maintenance work they are the basic tool for keeping the work area dry and draining away accumulated water.
Types of electric pumps in the collection
- Wortex professional drainage pumps, DRAIN and DXG series, designed for intensive site use.
- Kärcher submersible pumps from the SP series, with Flat and Dual models.
- Models with float switch, which start and stop the pump according to the water level.
How to choose the pump
The flow rate and head required matter, as does the type of water to be pumped (clean or laden with mud and debris) and the minimum level to which the pump must be able to draw. Also check the diameter of the discharge hose connection, the cable length and the electrical supply available on site.
AMES works on a quotation basis: tell us the use, the working conditions and the quantities and we will recommend the most suitable models, with availability and delivery times.

Frequently asked questions: Submersible Drainage Pumps
What are submersible drainage pumps used for?
Submersible drainage pumps empty excavations, cellars, sumps and flooded areas. They work immersed in the water and keep the work area dry. They are a basic tool on site and in maintenance, when accumulated water needs to be removed. Choose the model according to the amount of water to be removed and the presence of sand or debris.
What is the difference between clean water pumps and dirty water pumps?
Clean water pumps are suitable for clean or slightly dirty water, such as the Vigor Sub Al-250 and Al-350 clean water models. Dirty water pumps handle water with dirt and suspended solids. The Effe 750 W is suitable for both clean and dirty water. Always read the designation on the model before buying.
Which pump should I choose if I need automatic starting according to the water level?
Pumps with a float switch start and stop the motor according to the water level. They are useful in cellars, sumps and tanks, where flooding can recur with nobody present. The collection also includes models with a level sensor, such as the Kärcher SP 17.000 Flat Level Sensor. Check the cable length and the minimum water level required.
What is the difference between the Kärcher SP Flat and Dual models?
Kärcher offers the SP series with Flat models, such as SP 2, SP 9.000 and SP 17.000, and Dual models, such as SP 5 and SP 16.000. The differences in flow rate and use are given on each model's data sheet. Choose according to the type of water to be handled and the quantity to be pumped out. Do not compare just the numerical code.
Which Wortex pumps are suitable for professional drainage on site?
Wortex offers the DRAIN and DXG series, designed for intensive professional use on site, along with the PROFI, JD, JDX-JVX and SK series. For site work, compare flow rate, head and water type on the technical data sheet. The numerical codes indicate different models, so they must not be confused.
How do you connect a submersible drainage pump with electrical safety?
The power supply must be connected by an electrician, with a residual-current device (RCD) protecting the pump. Never carry the pump by its electric cable and never leave it in water with a damaged cable. Before working in a flooded area, check that the system is disconnected from the power supply. The pump must not be used for flammable liquids or fuel. Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 on workplace safety requires electrical risk to be assessed.
Which Pedrollo, Hyundai and Vigor pumps are available for draining a flooded area?
The models include the Pedrollo TOP-FLOOR and RX, the Hyundai electric pump item 35612 and the Vigor Sub Al-250 and Al-350 for clean water. Each model has its own power and flow characteristics. Choose according to the amount of water to be pumped out and the minimum level the pump can reach.
