What it is

The PTB DeWalt DFM1110940 universal expansion anchor is an M20 mechanical anchor, 185 mm long, in a single pack. The M20 section makes it suitable for the heaviest-duty fixings, with a load capacity at the top of the range, while its generous length allows thick elements to be anchored. The expansion mechanism provides a grip that increases and stabilises under tension.

Heavy-duty fixings are steel or reinforced nylon anchors that carry high loads in concrete and solid masonry.

What it is for

Used for anchoring shelves, brackets and structures to walls, for mechanical fixing of structures and components to walls, ceilings and floors and for structural fixings, where the fixing is load-bearing and must be calculated.

How to use it

Drill with a bit of the specified diameter to the required depth, then clean the hole with a brush and blow-out pump. Insert the anchor through the part to be fixed, hammering it in if necessary, and tighten the nut with a torque wrench to the torque specified by the manufacturer. Observe the minimum edge distances and spacings stated in the technical data sheet.
