Channel chisel, DeWalt DT6826-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT6826-QZ channel chisel is a demolition accessory designed to work concrete with precision and continuity. With an overall length of 300 mm and a cutting width of 26 mm, it uses a channel-type steel and an SDS MAX fitting that makes it compatible with professional-class breaker hammers. The low weight of 0.557 kg ensures good balance in prolonged use, while the channel geometry helps create regular chases and grooves in cementitious materials.

A demolition chisel is a steel tool with an SDS-Plus, SDS-Max or hex shank that, fitted to a hammer, breaks up concrete, masonry and tiles.

What it is for

Used for demolishing masonry and concrete structures, for light demolition, chasing and localised removal and for chiselling concrete, masonry and plaster.

How to use it

Choose the shape: pointed for breaking, flat or spade for scaling and removing tiles, channel for chasing. Grease the shank, insert it into the chuck of the hammer set to chiselling only and work letting the machine's weight do the job, without using the chisel as a lever. Wear safety glasses, gloves and ear defenders, and have the chisel resharpened or replace it when the cutting edge is worn.
