Asphalt chisel, 28 mm, DeWalt DT6934-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT6934-QZ asphalt cutter chisel is a demolition accessory with a 127 mm wide cutting blade and a 28 mm hex shank, designed for cutting and removing bituminous surfacing and concrete surfaces. With a working length of 445 mm and a weight of 3.5 kg, the cutter blade provides the mass and width needed to score and lift layers of material in roadworks and paving.

A demolition chisel is a steel tool with an SDS-Plus, SDS-Max or hex shank that, fitted to a hammer, breaks up concrete, masonry and tiles.

What it is for

Used for demolishing masonry and concrete structures, for light demolition, chasing and localised removal and for chiselling concrete, masonry and plaster.

How to use it

Choose the shape: pointed for breaking, flat or spade for scaling and removing tiles, channel for chasing. Grease the shank, insert it into the chuck of the hammer set to chiselling only and work letting the machine's weight do the job, without using the chisel as a lever. Wear safety glasses, gloves and ear defenders, and have the chisel resharpened or replace it when the cutting edge is worn.
