Spade chisel, 28 mm, DeWalt DT6928-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT6928-QZ spade chisel is a large-format demolition accessory with a 28 mm hex shank and a wide blade suited to moving and removing material on concrete. With a working length of 584 mm and an overall length of 58.7 cm, it offers considerable reach, while its weight of 4.18 kg makes it suitable for the most powerful breakers on heavy-duty jobs. The spade shape is designed for digging and moving material in cementitious substrates.

A demolition chisel is a steel tool with an SDS-Plus, SDS-Max or hex shank that, fitted to a hammer, breaks up concrete, masonry and tiles.

What it is for

Used for demolishing masonry and concrete structures, for light demolition, chasing and localised removal and for chiselling concrete, masonry and plaster.

How to use it

Choose the shape: pointed for breaking, flat or spade for scaling and removing tiles, channel for chasing. Grease the shank, insert it into the chuck of the hammer set to chiselling only and work letting the machine's weight do the job, without using the chisel as a lever. Wear safety glasses, gloves and ear defenders, and have the chisel resharpened or replace it when the cutting edge is worn.
