Code DT70791-QZ

Key features

What it is

DeWalt DT70791-QZ pilot bit with integrated countersink, size No. 8 referring to the screw. In a single pass it makes the pilot hole and the conical seat for the screw head, with the countersink staying centred on the hole. It is used with the DeWalt Flip and Drive connector and is also the replacement for the DT70779T-QZ set. The same family includes other sizes, such as No. 6 (DT70790) and No. 12 (DT70793).

A wood drill bit is a brad-point, auger, spade or Forstner bit that drills clean, accurate holes in solid wood, panels and chipboard.

What it is for

Used for fixing into timber, from assembly work to carpentry, for drilling wood and panels and for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill.

How to use it

Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
