What it is

The DeWalt DT9700-QZ set from the Extreme range brings together 4 SDS-Plus drill bits in the most commonly used diameters (5, 6, 8 and 10 mm), with a 2-cutter design and carbide tip for hammer drilling in concrete. All the bits have an SDS PLUS shank, for quick changes and a secure grip in rotary hammers and hammer drills.

A masonry bit is a carbide-tipped bit for drilling concrete, brick and stone with a hammer drill or rotary hammer.

What it is for

Used for drilling reinforced concrete, in hammer or rotary hammer mode and for drilling solid and hollow masonry, clay brick and blocks.

How to use it

Choose the machine's shank type (straight, SDS-Plus or SDS-Max) and the diameter required by the wall plug. Start the hole at low speed, then engage hammer action, holding the bit square to the surface and without forcing, withdrawing it frequently to clear the dust. Clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug.
