Taper shank twist drill bit Fervi ST2A14

What it is

The Fervi ST2A14 taper-shank twist drill bit is a cutting tool for drilling metals, with a diameter of Ø 14 mm and a 118° point angle. The combination of cutting-edge geometry and a hardness of between 700 and 740 HV allows efficient drilling and good edge life. Made to DIN 345, it offers the standardised dimensions required for professional machining and compatibility with Morse taper sockets.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
