Car-wash treatment plant discharging to soil or for treated-water reuse Rototec
Key features
- Deoiling treatmentCoalescing filter aggregates residual oils and hydrocarbons, separating them from the effluent
- Intensive biological treatmentBacterial strain growth breaks down dissolved organic matter (BOD5, COD) and detergents (phosphorus) via an aerated trickling filter

What it is
The plant treats washing wastewater with a complete multi-stage line for manual/automatic car washes and service areas, compliant with Italian Legislative Decree 152/2006 – Annex 5, Table 4 for discharge onto the ground. Operation in 4 stages: - Grit chamber: gravity separation of heavy materials (sand, sludge, gravel) at the bottom and light ones (oils, greases, foams) at the surface. Outlet pipe drawing from mid-tank. - Oil removal treatment: coalescing filter aggregates residual oils and hydrocarbons, separating them from the wastewater. - Intensive biological treatment: development of bacterial strains reduces dissolved organic matter (BOD5, COD) and detergents (phosphorus) by means of an aerated trickling filter. - Polishing treatment: quartzite and activated carbon filtration for discharge to open air/onto the ground or reuse in pre-washing.
Wastewater treatment systems are tanks, treatment units, pumping stations and components such as blowers, diffusers, control panels and covers for treating and pumping wastewater.
What it is for
Used for filtering system water and in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems.
How to use it
Bury the tanks on a level bedding layer, connect inlet and outlet at the correct falls and backfill while gradually filling them with water to balance the soil pressure. Have blowers, pumps and control panels connected by an electrician and keep them protected from water. Inspect the system through the covers, clean the diffusers and have the sludge emptied regularly.
