What it is
SiMP-Seal 640 is a SiMP (Silyl Modified Polymer) elastic adhesive and sealant, extrudable with ordinary sealant guns. It cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture to form a high-performance, permanently flexible elastic adhesive. Free from solvents and isocyanates. Application areas: SiMP-Seal 640 is a versatile, high-performance elastic adhesive and sealant for use in elastic bonding and sealing applications in industrial assembly, automotive, transport (buses, caravans, refrigerated vehicles, containers), marine, and air conditioning and ventilation systems where a flexible joint or a powerful elastic adhesive is required. Certified to: IMO Resolution MSC.307 (88) - Fire Testing Procedures Code (2010 FTP Code) - Annex 1 Parts 5 and 2 and Annex 2
Sealant is a paste product, in cartridges or tubes, that fills and seals joints and gaps, either remaining elastic or curing hard (silicones, polyurethanes, acrylics, hybrids, construction adhesives).
What it is for
Used for waterproofing roofs, terraces and below-ground structures, for structural and assembly bonding and for sealing joints, gaps and service penetrations.
How to use it
Clean and dry the joint edges, insert backer rod if needed and mask the edges with masking tape. Cut the nozzle at an angle to the width of the joint, extrude the product with the gun in a continuous bead and tool it with a wet spatula before it skins over. Remove the tape immediately and allow the full curing time before stressing the joint.
