What it is
NPT Sigill SiMP-Seal Teak 680 is a low-viscosity, one-component SiMP sealant for the seams of teak and marine wood decks. It cures with atmospheric moisture without bubbles, even on damp wood, is free of solvents and isocyanates and stays flexible from -40 to +100 °C. Shore A hardness about 48, elongation at break about 200%, skin-over time about 25 minutes; grey and black colours. Once cured, it can be sanded without staining the wood.
Sealant is a paste product, in cartridges or tubes, that fills and seals joints and gaps, either remaining elastic or curing hard (silicones, polyurethanes, acrylics, hybrids, construction adhesives).
What it is for
Used for waterproofing roofs, terraces and below-ground structures and for sealing joints, gaps and service penetrations.
How to use it
Clean and dry the joint edges, insert backer rod if needed and mask the edges with masking tape. Cut the nozzle at an angle to the width of the joint, extrude the product with the gun in a continuous bead and tool it with a wet spatula before it skins over. Remove the tape immediately and allow the full curing time before stressing the joint.
