Compact impact wrench, 18V, 1/2in square drive, DeWalt DCF894NT-XJ

What it is

The DeWalt DCF894NT-XJ compact impact wrench with a 1/2" square drive is supplied as a bare tool from the 18 V range and delivers a maximum torque of 447 Nm. The no-load speed is adjustable up to 2000 rpm across several settings (0-900/0-2000) and the impact frequency reaches 3100 blows/min. With a weight of 1.5 Kg and a length of 178 mm, it offers high power in a compact body.

A square-drive impact wrench is a rotary impact tool, cordless or pneumatic, for tightening and loosening nuts and bolts with sockets.

What it is for

Used for repetitive screwdriving into wood, metal and plasterboard, where torque and consistency matter, for vehicle maintenance, in the workshop and on the road and for tightening nuts and bolts where torque must be accurate and repeatable.

How to use it

Fit an impact socket, tougher than standard sockets, securing it with the hog ring or detent pin of the drive. Select the mode or power setting, start the nut by hand and run the tool while keeping it in line. For bolts with a specified torque, such as wheels and structural connections, run them down with the impact wrench and finish with a torque wrench; pneumatic models require filtered, lubricated air.
