What it is

The DeWalt DT4651-QZ is a wood auger bit of 32 mm diameter, with a working length of 280 mm and an overall length of 380 mm. It is the solution for the most demanding drilling jobs, where a large diameter and great depth come together: the long profile keeps a straight path through substantial thicknesses, while the extended spiral ensures a constant flow of chips.

A wood drill bit is a brad-point, auger, spade or Forstner bit that drills clean, accurate holes in solid wood, panels and chipboard.

How to use it

Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
