HSS-E cobalt bit 2.0 mm DeWalt DT4900-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4900-QZ drill bit is made of HSS-Co (cobalt high-speed steel) and designed for drilling metal. With a diameter of 2 mm, a working length of 24 mm and an overall length of 49 mm, it is designed for precision work. The blister pack contains 2 pieces and the bit has a 3-flat shank for a stable grip in the drill chuck.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
