HSS-E cobalt bit 12.0 mm DeWalt DT4916-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4916-QZ drill bit is designed for drilling metal with a diameter of 12 mm and is made of cobalt-alloyed HSS-Co high-speed steel, a solution that increases hot hardness and cutting-edge life. With a working length of 101 mm and an overall length of 151 mm, it makes it possible to drill deep holes in steel, while the cylindrical shank with three flats ensures a secure grip in the chuck.

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
