HSS-E cobalt bit 11.0 mm DeWalt DT4915-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4915-QZ is a metal drill bit with a diameter of 11 mm in HSS-Co cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel, a material chosen to withstand the high temperatures generated when drilling hard steels. Its working length of 94 mm and total length of 142 mm offer sufficient margin to pass through substantial thicknesses, while the tri-flat shank ensures a stable grip in the drill chuck.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
