HSS-E cobalt bit 10.0 mm DeWalt DT4914-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT4914-QZ drill bit is a metal drilling tool with a diameter of 10 mm, made of super high-speed steel HSS-Co (HSS-E) alloyed with cobalt. The cobalt alloy gives the cutting part greater resistance to heat and wear during machining, while the working length of 87 mm and the overall bit length of 133 mm ensure good penetration even at depth. The cylindrical shank with three flats promotes a firm grip in the chuck, reducing slippage.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
