SDS-Plus chisel, DeWalt DT6806-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT6806-QZ SDS-Plus chisel is a flat-blade steel demolition tool, with a chisel width of 50 mm and a chisel length of 250 mm, intended for working concrete. The overall length of 34.5 cm and the weight of 0.33 kg offer a wide working surface while remaining easy to handle. The SDS-Plus connecting shank ensures compatibility with rotary hammers and hammers fitted with this fitting.

A demolition chisel is a steel tool with an SDS-Plus, SDS-Max or hex shank that, fitted to a hammer, breaks up concrete, masonry and tiles.

What it is for

Used for demolishing masonry and concrete structures, for light demolition, chasing and localised removal and for chiselling concrete, masonry and plaster.

How to use it

Choose the shape: pointed for breaking, flat or spade for scaling and removing tiles, channel for chasing. Grease the shank, insert it into the chuck of the hammer set to chiselling only and work letting the machine's weight do the job, without using the chisel as a lever. Wear safety glasses, gloves and ear defenders, and have the chisel resharpened or replace it when the cutting edge is worn.
