What it is

The DeWalt DT9509-QZ is an Extreme bit with an SDS-Plus shank, a diameter of 5.5 mm and a working length of 100 mm. The carbide-tooth head and two-cutting-edge body ensure precise drilling in concrete, while the reinforced core improves the strength of the web during hammering. The weight of around 0.053 kg keeps it easy to use repeatedly.

A masonry bit is a carbide-tipped bit for drilling concrete, brick and stone with a hammer drill or rotary hammer.

How to use it

Choose the machine's shank type (straight, SDS-Plus or SDS-Max) and the diameter required by the wall plug. Start the hole at low speed, then engage hammer action, holding the bit square to the surface and without forcing, withdrawing it frequently to clear the dust. Clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug.
