What it is

A clean water pump is a surface or submersible electric pump that lifts or pressurises clear water from wells, cisterns and tanks.
What it is for
Used in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, for installing building services and plant and for heating homes and small premises.
How to use it
Install surface pumps on a level base close to the draw-off point, with a foot valve on the suction pipe, and fill them with water before first start-up; lower submersible pumps suspended on a rope. Use them only with clean, sand-free water and never let them run dry. Connect them to a circuit protected by an RCD and, in winter, drain outdoor pumps to protect them from frost.
