What it is

Wood screws are screws with a wood thread, also supplied with a plug or collar, for assembling timber and fixing frames and battens to walls.
What it is for
Used for furniture assembly, for repetitive screwdriving into wood, metal and plasterboard, where torque and consistency matter and for woodworking in the joinery shop.
How to use it
Choose a length that penetrates at least two-thirds into the second piece. In hardwoods or near edges, pre-drill to prevent the wood from splitting. Drive with a bit of the right size, keeping the screwdriver in line and setting the clutch so as not to strip the head.
