What it is

The DeWalt DT9516-QZ drill bit from the SDS-Plus Extreme range is a 6 mm diameter percussion tool designed for drilling concrete. It features an SDS-Plus shank, a double-helix geometry with a two-cutter head and a reinforced core that supports its resistance over repeated work cycles. With a working length of 150 mm and a compact overall length, it offers a good compromise between hole depth and ease of handling.

A masonry bit is a carbide-tipped bit for drilling concrete, brick and stone with a hammer drill or rotary hammer.

How to use it

Choose the machine's shank type (straight, SDS-Plus or SDS-Max) and the diameter required by the wall plug. Start the hole at low speed, then engage hammer action, holding the bit square to the surface and without forcing, withdrawing it frequently to clear the dust. Clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug.
