What it is
Threaded rod FIS M A2 Fischer is a threaded anchoring element in A2 stainless steel, designed for use with Fischer chemical anchoring systems. The A2 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance; in the size considered it requires a drill hole diameter d0 of 14 mm and it is supplied in packs of 20 pieces.
Stainless threaded rod is stainless steel rod threaded along its entire length, used for tie rods and anchor fixings outdoors and in damp or aggressive environments.
What it is for
Used for anchoring shelves, brackets and structures to walls, for chemical anchoring, where the load or edge distance rules out a mechanical anchor and for structural fixings, where the fixing is load-bearing and must be calculated.
How to use it
Cut to length and clean up the thread by running a nut over it. Fix with chemical anchor or in connectors and tighten with nuts and washers that are also stainless, to avoid galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals. In marine or chloride-laden environments, A4 stainless is preferred over A2.
