Pedrollo
119 products
Pedrollo is an Italian manufacturer of electric pumps and pumping systems for water. This collection brings together the brand's products available from AMES, for lifting and transferring water and for drainage on site and in residential and industrial systems.
Types of product available
- Electric water pumps, such as the PK series peripheral pumps
- Plug & Drain emergency drainage kits, for emptying flooded rooms
- Inverters for electric pumps, such as PRO-DG, to regulate pump operation
How to choose
The data to look at are the flow rate, that is the litres per minute to be moved, and the head, that is the height to which the water must be lifted. Then the type of liquid matters (clean water or dirty water with solids) and the power supply available, single-phase or three-phase. For uses with variable demand, the inverter allows the pump to be adapted to requirements.
AMES sells by quotation: describe your system to us and we will recommend the right pump.

Frequently asked questions: Pedrollo
Which submersible pump should I choose to empty a flooded room?
To empty a flooded room, use submersible pumps, which operate immersed in the water. For very dirty water or water containing solids, check on the data sheet whether the pump is suitable, as with the TRITUS series, whose name refers to shredding. Choose the flow rate in litres per minute according to the volume of water to be moved and the time you have available.
What is the difference between a submersible pump and a peripheral electric pump?
A submersible pump works immersed in the liquid to be moved, so it suits wells, tanks and flooded rooms. A peripheral electric pump stays out of the water and draws through a pipe, so it suits tanks, above-ground cisterns or domestic systems. Before choosing, look at where it will be installed and the depth of the liquid to be pumped out.
What is a Plug & Drain emergency drainage kit used for?
The Plug & Drain kit is used to quickly empty flooded rooms such as cellars, garages or basements when water arrives suddenly. It must be connected to a socket protected by a residual-current device (RCD), and must never be used while people are in contact with the water during operation. Keep the kit somewhere easy to reach and make sure the discharge hose is clear.
What does a pump inverter such as the Pedrollo PRO-DG do?
A pump inverter regulates the motor speed, so the pump works according to the flow needed instead of always running at full output. In the PRO-DG model, the regulation is used to control pump operation more precisely. Before installing it, read the data sheet, check the voltage and power of the pump and have the device fitted by a technician.
Which booster set do I need for domestic water or a small system?
A booster set keeps the water pressure constant when taps are opened or several outlets are used together. The VSP2 variable-speed model adjusts the pump speed according to consumption. To choose, compare the flow rate and pressure required by the system and consider how many outlets will use water at the same time.
How do I choose a Pedrollo well pump?
For a well, the pump must fit the well diameter and work at the depth of the water. The UP series is designed for installation in wells. Compare the minimum diameter, installation depth, flow rate and head in the data sheet. Before buying, check the available power supply and the distance from the electrical panel.
What do flow rate and head mean when choosing a pump?
Flow rate is how many litres per minute the pump moves, while head is the height to which it can push the water. To choose, calculate the height difference to overcome and the quantity of water to move in the time available. A pump with a high flow rate but insufficient head will not reach the intended discharge point.
What precautions are needed when installing a submersible pump?
Do not run the pump dry, because the motor may overheat. Connect it to a socket protected by an RCD and check that the power cable is undamaged. Check the IP protection rating stated on the data sheet, which must be suitable for immersion, and keep the float switch clear of obstacles. Clean sand and debris off the impeller regularly.
