What it is

The DeWalt DT4644-QZ is a wood auger bit with a working length of 280 mm and an overall length of 380 mm, designed for deep drilling in timber elements. The elongated profile helps keep a straight path even through substantial thicknesses, while the spiral geometry carries the chips towards the outside of the hole, reducing the risk of clogging.

How to use it

Place the centre point on the mark and start at low speed; always use large-diameter spade and Forstner bits at reduced speed. To avoid breakout, rest the workpiece on a piece of scrap wood or finish the hole from the opposite side. Use extensions for deep holes, locking them by tightening the screw firmly.
